Coastal
transportation
OSL is engaged in coastal transportation on the East Coast through its fleet of barges and tugboats for lighterage operations.
OSL’s subsidiary M/s Eversun Sparkle Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd. has recently acquired an Articulated Tug and Barge unit (ATB) of 5500 DWT for voyages to the Indian Ocean rim countries apart from the voyages along the Indian Coast.
The ATB is designed to call at Shallow drafted ports enabling convenient access to hinterland consequently resulting in significant economies in the cost of cargo transportation. This unique concept is also capable of achieving large economies in the cost of domestic transportation for import/export cargo by facilitating lighterage of large size carriers / parcels even at ports with shallow draft.
